Fue creada en Vitoria-Gasteiz en 1987, y en 2014 entr\u00f3 a formar parte de la Federaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Asociaciones de Musicoterapia (FEAMT) como una de las asociaciones fundadoras.
